ABOUT BEL-SAR

Bel-SarOur therapeutic candidate belzupacap sarotalocan (bel-sar) is a VLP conjugated to a photosensitive dye. Once delivered to the eye, bel-sar induces tumor necrosis via release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon exposure to 689nm infrared light. In the clinical setting, this light activation is achieved via a standard ophthalmic laser directed at the tumor within the eye. Secondary to the acute tumor necrosis, bel-sar induces an anti-tumor immune response which provides potential for durable efficacy and prevention of metastatic disease.
